Lamborghini Experience 2009

Lamborghini Las Vegas hosted the 2nd annual Lamborghini Experience at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada. We were able to learn first hand about the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 (Superleggera) by sitting in the drivers seat and putting the super-car through various road courses. There were 50 people that were broken up into 5 groups. Each group cycled through the various events. The video below was filmed using the AEE MINI DV camera.

The day began for our group at the Auto-Cross. This event showed us how the car handles and allowed us to get a feel of the wheel mounted shift levers, handling and braking.
The next event we did was the Shift Carts. These high powered go-carts can go as fast as 60 MPH.

The follow the leader event was fun. The lead car was a pro driver in a Corvette and we had 3 Lamborghinis following. The closer the formation, the faster the leader will go. This was a blast. The driver's perspective video below shows bits from follow the leader and the slalom which was also done on the main track. Listen to the engine.... the sound is awesome.

We had the opportunity to ride in a Radical racer. These are like mini Indy cars that can do over 150 MPH. I had the camera clipped to the helmet visor in this video.

The Wet-8 and the 0-60-0 events allowed us to experience the handling of the Gallardo in wet conditions. The 0-60-0 we started at a standstill and floored the accelerator until we got to the second set of cones. This showed the superb stopping power of the car.

The event gave me a renewed admiration for the Lamborghini cars. Being behind the wheel is awe inspiring and I feel very fortunate to have experienced it. Thanks to the Lamborghini Las Vegas and the Spring Mountain Motorsports staff who made the event spectacular.

Hope you enjoyed the videos!
